direction blank

Nowadays, looking for a job is like looking for gold. Even when you manage to get an interview you realize that it's not even silver and your happiness turns into a sand that reminds you of the first time you actually made a mistake and everyone went like aaaaaaawwwwwwwwww. That's not a good thing to hear especially when you are grown up and those disappointed voices sound in your own head. It's not just the fact that you have to know someone to get you in (like in the Secret Service) it's also that you will have to say yes to just about anything. It's not like that everywhere. Don't get me wrong. There are many people that have obtained what they wanted.......in another country far from Europe. That is not the case for the rest of us. We are the kind of people that make the sadomasochists feel shy. When we see a wall, we try to paint a sea on it in order to be more brave when the time comes to crush in it. But let's see the bright side of the story because that is what we have been taught by the wider universe....a.k.a our moms or someone that cared as much as them. The positive side is that although unemployment rate is at about 20% there are people who get a job. They might be paid after 3 or 4 months but it's a start. You start broke and you end up broke and in debt. On the other hand it's all about being ambitious and going after your dreams, isn't it?I mean...we have to make some sacrifices as to get what we want or even more than we need. So, our goal will be surrounded by higher expectations and we will be (at some point if still alive) completely materialized into something that looked good on us 10 years ago but not now. As such, the primal goal is to survive, then get stable and last but not least.....get as rich as possible. We all claim that we want an ordinary life but the idea of a pool behind our yard will never sound extreme, just tempting. As long as we won't risk too much we could do just about anything within our boundaries. After the first smell of cash our limits will seem a bit fragile and flexible. People change. Success or something that looks like it change a person within a week. Well, let's not get carried away because ''success'' in these troubled times is considered the best joke around. Let's put a glass of wine and chill out. Tomorrow if lucky we'll see another day...don't get depressed if it will be a twin of yesterday.Cheers!

  • The day of the protest everyone stopped watching comedies. The police that earn 650-700 euro were throwing tear gas to the protestors that earn 0-489 euro. Guess who were in the VIP seats watching the ''game''. The ones that earn 5.000 euro...

Fast track updates

  • The prime minister of England said that Greeks will not be allowed to go to the UK in case the country will be declared bankrupted. What if the Greeks want to visit the British museums to see the ''souvenirs'' your diplomats took with them when they returned to Britain?...minor things as statues and items from the ancient era?Could we suppose that the young lads of England won't come for vacations paying 7 euro per night (all inclusive)?...Greeks are paying 30-50 euro when they go in the same island....nice one Mr. Cameron
  • Congratulation primos for winning the cup...again!Celebrations in Spain are endless...sweet!
  • Tom Cruise is divorcing...but who cares?
  • Nicolas Sarkozy is being accused of money laundering among other things. If that will be proved...keep in mind that this guy was deciding the fate of Europe (along with Angie) couple of months ago...Of course we have many wolves dressed in lambs here as well...time will unfold everything
  • In case you are interested in diving or sailing lessons there are many groups offering discounts...text us if you need info
  • Kaskade, Sasha,John Digweed,Roger Sanchez,Bob Sinclar and many more will smash their decks in the island of Mykonos during summer
  • Have the best summer that you possibly can, it doesn't matter much where you are or what you drink (or maybe it does to some extent), the important variable is who you are with

1st Cuban festival...not really

So we heard that there was a Cuban festival taking place in Athens supported by the Cuban Embassy. Since we are into that kind of music as well we were very happy about this event and we rushed to find out more details about it. Sites were mentioning that Ibrahim Ferrer Jr (Buena Vista Social Club) was going to sing and many others as well, that even Cuban food will be available and some kind of activities. Sounded so great, so good and so energizing. We really needed somekind of passion in our lives because routine has been the most ugly visitor for some time now.
Last Sunday before going there we needed to get in the right mood. It is better to be ''ready'' when you get in than waiting for the mood to come after an hour or so. As such, we created the perfect mojitos enhanced by the very best of Cuban music...fooled around for a bit until we saw one of our neighbours pretending that he liked what he was hearing. He hates anything that can be above his standard rate of decibels. However, nothing could stop us.Afterall, we were going to the first Cuban festival!!
The event was starting at 21.00 and as always we went 1.5 hour later. When we got in the first thing we were searching was the Cuban food because obviously we thought not to eat before in order to have a complete Cuban experience. But hang on a minute!!There was only hot dog available. We looked again around us to be sure that we didn't get in the wrong place. Too bad it was the right one. No turning back now. We got that hot dog and the only thing that i want to remember is how much i wanted to....forget that i actually ate that thing. We looked around and we found a small...ish exhibition of photos from Cuba....not much to admire really. Half an hour later the concert was over. It was around 00.00...basically our Cuban experience lasted an hour....roughly. If you exclude the 2-3 flags on the wall and the outstanding Ibrahim Ferrer Jr. along with his orchestra everything else was below average. Don't get me wrong, this is just feedback for a better outcome next time. After all, we got the ticket for something else than what we thought it would be.
If anyone from the Cuban embassy from Athens reads about this (we are aware that we have more chances to win the lottery) keep in mind that we would be more than happy to help next time....for free. This is one of the several things that we enjoy doing without getting paid in any form.

think twice before you...

fast track updates

  • Well, it's too much turbulence in Southern Europe. Too many sacrifices for the well being of Euro. Too many people reaching the edge of insanity and despair, some of them putting an end to it in a way that no one should. The European Union breaks in half, north versus south. There can't be a union if rules are applied just towards a certain direction
  • Sasha is smashing his decks on the 7th of July in Myconos, Sven Vath on the 20th and Ricardo Villalobos on the 23th of the same month at the same place, the famous Cavo Paradiso. We might get there by swimming because frankly i can not see any other way
  • Someone said that there is an online bet that you can choose what will happen first...Greece out the Euro as a football team or out of the Eurozone as a state. That reminds us of that German bank (Deutsche Bank) betting on when some Americans will die. Crazy things begin to seem normal nowadays...just saying
  • If you want to go for a swim...with a basic budget here are the steps 1)take a bus -we know it is a living hell until you reach there but..- 2) take coffee before you reach the beach 3) put your towel on the sand (after all it's better to get back with some sand in your hair-if you have any- it boosts up the feeling of sunburn 4) take homemade sandwiches and water-although it will turn into tea after1 hour- in other words act like many tourists do
  • We found some nice, secret beaches without too many people and really nice waters. Maybe we will present a couple of them later on. However, no sand...just rocks
  • According to Daily Mail, in Wales a woman got a parking ticket while she was in surgery because she parked in the disabled zone although she had the disabled badge. No comment...

  • for the metal heads...Sepultura on the 6th of June and Exodus with Obituary on the 9th of June both events at Fuzz club
  • for the clubbers... Armin Van Buuren on the 9th of July at Global Dance Festival
  • check out ''www.xoris.gr'' for whole sale prices...eatable products straight from the farmers without the ''pimp price'' of the middle men
  • if anyone throws any cans or cigarettes on the beach again we are going to have a serious problem. The well known blue flags will turn into pirate ones
  •  if this country returns to its national currency....we'll have a party...we just don't know yet what kind it will be

return to innocence

We decided to go for a swim the other day. We didn't want any fuzzy beach so we chose something quiet  not too far away. Although the sea is almost everywhere, all locals go outside the city because the waters are away from the everyday corrosion. As soon as we reached there, we realized that the beach was not so quiet and the sea not that warm. Well, as far as the quiet part is concerned we all agreed but the part with the sea being cold...it was just me. I bought a coffee and i just sat under the sun trying to ignore the nasty kids that were screaming and playing  around. The rest of the group got in the sea without looking back. I was in solitude in a beach full of people. Some of you know how that feels...However i had the ''medicine'' for that. I put on my black sunglasses(so that no one would think that i am a psycho and i got straight into my thoughts). I admit, sometimes i get up in a worse state than i was when i sat but i do it anyway. At the time, i was thinking of something a friend wrote which was that '' Man cannot discover new oceans unless he has the courage to lose sight of the shore''. I thought then, that i have been too long on the same shore, on something that i ended up being too tired to leave due to all the attempts that remained plans instead of actions or failed actions that were never replanned due to convenience. The basic roles were reversed. I was waiting for what the sea would bring to my shore instead of diving in and attempting, hoping, trying, fighting, putting in flesh and bones whatever i was searching for.
Suddenly, a small sea stone thrown by a friend hit my arm and brought me back to reality and my mind mocked all these ''philosophical thoughts of...whatever''. On top of that, two kids were right next to me quarreling about who can reach the horizon faster. Their screams to one another were ongoing so i started looking after their parents to save me or the police (that was plan B...just in case). After 10 minutes they went into the sea trying to reach the horizon. I laughed...as you would probably do because i knew they could never make it.
But you know...they didn't think about it. They didn't believe not even for a moment that they couldn't do it, they were sure that each one of them will reach the horizon first, the burning sun didn't scare them nor the depth of the sea, not even the rising likelihood of being slapped by their mother. They mocked the lifeguard and they just went for it. Still, they are kids, their job is to look after their own satisfaction...the thing is...what would you give to have an eighth  of that kind of spirit again? How much?No strings attached, not even things-circumstances-bad habits that you are now bonded to.So, how much would you offer for such a feeling? It would be too sweet to work like that......money for feelings wouldn't it?That's why it is so hard to get it (back) because it can't be bought just conquered. On the other hand, how many of us have the will to go to war with themselves without any ''loyal soldiers''?

Saturday blues

Τhe elections are tomorrow.Almost everyone is stressed and diffused. It is the first time that most of the people know what not to vote but on the other hand don't know what political party to choose. The media is feeding the monster of brain wash and the revolutionary spirits have found a comfortable seat in the hands of....facebook. We are cyberised and we have a lack of substantial judgement until the delayed or nonexistent payments knock on our door.No my friends, there is no solidarity around us,there is just a flexible frame in which we like to suit in no matter what goes outside our door of fiction. We have been divided for so long and we forgot how to unite.
They have done a great job, too easy and without any master plan that we would comprehend its true nature after many years due to its outstanding complexity and strategy. No, it was so evident and they didn't even bother to think too much about it. Someone said that not all values-rights have evolved on the same rate through out the years...some have remained the same as they were 500 years ago and some of them are too modern and sophisticated (slavery, freedom etc).
I know...we said no politics here...and i want to stick by that. But then again you would always want to share 2-3 flagrant thoughts with some friends. Maybe blogger should have a beer application, so i could get one for each one of you.
Well lads, we are in the verge of something, that's for sure. Personally, i wouldn't mind to have a simple bamboo house on a beach and be a fisherman (if i could have some music too i wouldn't leave the place). Here's the twist of it...the most simple thing has turned into a complex task because every aspect is combined with something else that can't do without. Sure i could just fire up this place, having a movie-like exit away from all this... but then again my name is not Rambo.

Benefit the most out of each moment even if there's a lame day waiting patiently for you tomorrow because at the end of the...bill we are all formed out of multi-colored fragments.

fast track updates

It's been a while since we were ''funked'' on the blog. It is our view that we shouldn't post something that we don't feel positive about it 100%, just for the sake of posting. We can't deny that we haven't gone through some rough waters during the last days, however it is in our nature to ''keep on walking''.

  •  Easter came on time, however without escorts...vacation was declared missing and the ones who managed to get some days off when they returned to their jobs they found out that vacations were permanent for them
  • Crisis or not, paying 4.50 euro for kilo of green peppers is robbery. Wait a minute, actually it can be labeled as armed robbery.
  • The election period feels the same as the ones of the past, same strategy towards the wider public.Would that be the reason that the bouncers permanently surround politicians even at the toilet?A message for our Primos...The activities that officials have done here make the safari of Juan Carlos look like a child's play
  • The music festivals are starting around the city and out of it... be alert
  • Now that good weather is a permanent deal consider going outside the city of Athens. In about an hour drive you could go to Loutraki for example and enjoy the sea, the food and the fresh air. That is just a suggestion in case that gas will not be still higher than gold. We will post shortly some tips about that
  • It's not just the crisis of cash, that is the front window of the store...what about the rest of what is going on in the back?
  • Lately, more people are protesting through facebook and twitter....we are not sure that the guys from the parliament are that high-tech
  • Traditional professions are coming back quicker than the speed of light. I don't know about you but i am thinking of fishing on an nice island.Old is gold...

be safe and restless

fast track updates

  • Death in Vegas are playing live at Fuzz club on the 11th of May and John Digweed at Blend club on the on the 26th of May. Don't forget about Parov Stellar Band on the 27th of April at Votanikos
  • No ships again for tomorrow and no Ktel buses (the ones that go to other cities) on Thursday. You're not laughing now about the bicycle era that we were talking about for the past couple of months, are you?
This cat knows how to survive
  • The only living creature that is not bothered by the crisis is our cat. As you see she keeps finding new stuff to wear. By the way...that mating season we were complaining about.... is ongoing
  • No more petrol imports from Iran. The same goes for Spain (no worries primos we'll cry on each others shoulder) and shortly for Italy as well. Things are getting better and better...
  •  At the moment we are during the period of Easter. The tradition indicates to cook lamb however according to the market sales chicken will be this year's superstar....
  • The famous and trendy series ''Game of Thrones'' is back again. Season 2 devours everyone in its way and makes them its zombies

Take care and be safe
