Have a taste of Havana...at Enzzo deCuba!

If you ever feel like you absolutely need to get out there and unleash that wild latin beast hiding inside you....If you find yourself drooling for an old school, verdadero Cuba Libre....If it's been a long time since you have seen some nice Cuban and Brazilian (male and female) curves waving like a starving anaconda...   If you feel like singing out loud several times per day "Nossa, nossa! Assim você me mata. Ai, se eu te pego! Ai, ai, se eu te pego!".... If you have always wanted to jump in a plane to Cuba.....then we found the perfect place for you: Enzzo de Cuba!

We discovered it two weeks ago, it was the last day of the carnival and we wanted to try something new.  So we drove to Peristeri and started our club hunting until our fabulous party animal instincts guided us to this place. Perfect timing, I would say, we jumped right in the middle of a Brazilian party and, even better, a costumed one, since it was still carnival season.

We arrived pretty early, around 11:00 pm, but already there were more people dancing than sitting down. So we hurried up to grab a couple of Cuba Libres and we took a moment to look around. The place is quite big and very well ventilated (there is a sliding roof top that opens once in a while to let fresh air in).

Decorative panels depicting old Cuba and funny statues bring a nice touch to the overall scene. The hotspot is an improvised dancing corner, where Brazilian professional dancers warm up the audience with those anaconda moves I was telling you about and everyone is invited to join them.

Usually, the Brazilians dance in the front rows and the others stay behind them and try to imitate what they see. However, if you are brave enough, you are welcome to burst right into the front row and unleash yourself. We were modest and stayed in the back rows, but we feel our talent was still very much appreciated.

From a practical point of view, prices are not so modest. A Cuba Libre is 10 euros and the entrance fee was also 10 euros per person, one drink included. The Cuba Libre was deliciousss, nevertheless.

We had our share of Cuba that night and we will definitely go back, as they have all kinds of events going on, for instance, every Monday they plan Brazilian parties as of 22:30, entrance fee 6 euros, one drink included. So what if we work, we are still young and feel very Brazilian sometimes! :)

Still not convinced? Have a look at this video and then go ahead and have a slice of Havana with Brazilian topping right here in Athens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lisHQbPRORg.

People: all ages, all colors, all dancing!
Location: I wouldn't know how to get back there, but my orientation skills are very poor. Plus, I have my own personal Greek guide, hope you have one too :)
WC: didn't go, had a very strong bladder that night
Service: excellent Cuba Libres, prices slightly above average, but worth it
